Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Professor of Ophthalmology to join a reputed and well-established hospital/medical institution in Madurai. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials, extensive clinical experience, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Ophthalmology
- Provide advanced clinical care in ophthalmic subspecialties
- Guide and mentor junior faculty, residents, and postgraduate students
- Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, and examinations
- Supervise and support research activities, publications, and clinical studies
- Ensure adherence to medical ethics, NABH/MCI/NMC guidelines, and institutional protocols
- Contribute to the overall growth and reputation of the department and institution
- Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, workshops, and conferences
Eligibility Criteria
- MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized medical institution
- Minimum 10–15 years of post-qualification experience, including teaching experience as per NMC norms
- Prior experience as Associate Professor / Professor preferred
- Strong academic background with research publications (desirable)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
