Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based at Lotus Eye Hospital and Institute in multiple branches. The Ophthalmologist will provide comprehensive clinical care, including conducting detailed eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include performing outpatient consultations, managing pre- and post-operative care, and carrying out surgical and laser procedures as required. The role involves collaborating with optometrists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, safe, and evidence-based care. The Ophthalmologist is also expected to maintain accurate medical records, participate in clinical meetings, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and provide patient education on eye health and preventive care.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Ophthalmology, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye diseases.
- Clinical proficiency in Optometry-related assessments, including refraction, contact lens evaluation, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Demonstrated skill in Ophthalmic Surgery, including cataract and other anterior/posterior segment procedures.
- Experience with Laser-based eye treatments and familiarity with advanced ophthalmic equipment and technologies.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MS/DOMS/DNB) with valid medical registration.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical clinical practice, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Prior experience in a tertiary or super specialty eye care setting is advantageous; willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
