Manager - Operations will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end ocean shipping operations, customer service, commercial coordination, compliance, and team management to ensure smooth cargo movement and maximise profitability.
The candidate should be adept at multitasking and working cross-functionally with different business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Export & Import shipments, manage booking with shipping lines, effectively monitor operations including cargo / container movement, transshipment and meet delivery deadlines by resolving operational issues / shipment delays.
- Develop strong relationship with shipping lines, agents, freight forwarders, CHA, Transporters and CFS/ ICDs.
- Monitor shipment document and ensure compliance of customs, port and other operational statutory regulations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationship to ensure high service standards, customer satisfaction, drive brand loyalty, and increase revenue.
- Monitor operational expenses and implement effective cost control measures to enhance shipment profitability.
- Introduce contingency plans to handle operational emergency to ensure safe delivery and minimize cargo claim.
- Develop SOPs and workflows for operations department.
- Lead, train and supervise operations team effectively to improve productivity.
- Prepare, maintain and update MIS reports.
Qualifications
- UG / PG in Logistics / Supply Chain with 9+ years of experience in NVOCC Operations.
- Familiarity with Internartional Trade Regualtions.
- Strong Knowledge in Container Maintenance & Operations.
- Strong Organisational and Communication Skill.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications.
