SERAP India is recruiting an Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across manufacturing and support functions.
The role covers two production verticals, Milk Cooling and Industrial Processing, as well as Plant Maintenance, Supply Chain excluding Purchasing, and Stores / Inventory. The position is part of the Steering Committee and contributes directly to operational excellence, organizational strategy, and long-term growth.
Role Purpose
The Operations Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across all managed functions. The role requires the ability to translate company strategy into executable operational plans, drive performance across production and support functions, and act as a key interface between the Managing Director and operational teams.
Organizational Scope
The Operations Manager will directly manage:
- Production Manager – Milk Cooling Vertical
- Production Manager – Industrial Processing Vertical
- Plant Maintenance Manager
- Supply Chain Manager
- Stores / Inventory Manager
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Leadership Responsibilities
- Actively contribute as a Steering Committee member to strategic planning, capital investment decisions, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Translate company strategy into executable operational plans across all managed functions.
- Build a leadership culture focused on accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key interface between the Managing Director and operational teams.
Production and Operations Management
- Oversee end-to-end operations of both Milk Cooling and Industrial Processing verticals.
- Ensure production targets are met with optimal efficiency, cost control, and quality standards.
- Standardize processes, KPIs, and reporting across both production verticals.
- Drive Lean manufacturing, productivity improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
Plant Maintenance Management
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance systems are robust and effective.
- Minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability and asset life.
- Align maintenance strategy with production and safety objectives.
Supply Chain and Stores Management
- Oversee supply chain planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, and logistics.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels, material availability, and cost efficiency.
- Strengthen supplier performance, delivery reliability, and compliance.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for operational and quality issues.
People and Performance Management
- Develop, mentor, and performance-manage reporting managers.
- Drive succession planning and capability building within operations.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and effective communication.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree or MBA in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in operations or manufacturing leadership, preferably in industrial equipment, dairy, food processing, or heavy manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing multiple production verticals and cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience at senior leadership or Steering Committee level.
- Strong exposure to structured manufacturing environments, continuous improvement, and change management.
