Operations Manager – International Logistics & Transportation

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead and drive operational excellence across international logistics and transportation functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a track record of managing large-scale logistics operations while ensuring efficiency, compliance, customer satisfaction, and business growth. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimize processes, manage high-performing teams, build strong client relationships, and deliver outstanding operational results in a fast-paced global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
• Lead and manage end-to-end international logistics and transportation operations.
• Ensure seamless execution of freight, transportation, customs, and logistics support processes.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and service excellence across all functions.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), SLAs, quality metrics, and turnaround times.
• Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Team Management & People Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams to achieve business objectives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and succession planning initiatives.
• Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation. Client & Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, vendors, and key stakeholders.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and client concerns.
• Participate in client reviews, business discussions, and service improvement initiatives.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Compliance & Quality Management
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain operational accuracy, quality standards, and risk controls.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Business Performance & Reporting
• Manage operational budgets, resource planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Prepare and present performance reports, operational dashboards, and business insights.
• Leverage data-driven decision-making to improve operational outcomes
. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA or Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of overall experience with 6–8 years of relevant experience in International Logistics, Transportation, Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, or Supply Chain Operations.
• Proven experience managing large operational teams and client-facing engagements.
• Strong understanding of international transportation processes, freight operations, customs documentation, and logistics compliance.
• Experience working with global clients, preferably across North America and Europe.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in International Logistics BPO/KPO operations should be must ( Mandatory)
• Exposure to process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement frameworks.
• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), logistics software, and reporting tools.
• Experience managing transitions, process migrations, or operational transformation projects.
