About the Role
We're looking for an Operations Manager – Campus Launch who will own the end-to-end setup of new campuses from scratch.
This is a pure 0→1 role: you will take a campus from an empty shell (or early-stage infrastructure) to a fully functional, ready-to-run environment for students and teams.
You will work across infrastructure, vendors, logistics, academic readiness, and on-ground operations to ensure that everything required for Day 1 is in place and working.
This role requires extreme ownership, strong execution under ambiguity, and the ability to operate in unstructured environments where nothing is predefined.
Responsibilities
Campus Setup (0 → 1 Ownership)
- Own the complete setup of new campuses - from early-stage planning to Day 1 readiness
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed execution plans across infrastructure, logistics, and operations
- Drive campus readiness across both academic and non-academic requirements
Vendor & External Partner Management
- Identify, onboard, and manage vendors across facilities, logistics, and services
- Negotiate contracts and coordinate timelines to ensure on-schedule delivery across all external partners
- Continuously track execution on-ground and resolve vendor bottlenecks in real time
Operational Readiness
Ensure all systems required for running the campus are in place before launch:
- Timetables and scheduling systems
- Student onboarding and movement flows
- Issue reporting and resolution mechanisms
Anticipate operational gaps before launch and proactively solve for them.
On-Ground Execution
- Spend significant time on campus during setup phases to ensure execution quality
- Personally track progress, identify gaps, and ensure closure
- Handle last-mile execution and firefighting leading up to launch
- Step in across functions wherever required to unblock progress - problem statements will often be unclear and evolving
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in operations, business operations, or startup roles with strong execution exposure
- Demonstrated ability to build or set up something from scratch (0→1 experience preferred)
- Strong ownership mindset - ability to drive outcomes without structured guidance
- High comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders (internal teams, vendors, partners) without direct authority
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through
- Willingness to relocate temporarily or be on-site for extended periods during launch phases
- Proficiency in project tracking and operations tools (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA is a plus
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
You can take an incomplete, messy setup and make it fully functional.
You are highly execution-focused and close loops aggressively.
You don't rely on predefined processes - you create them when needed.
You are comfortable with chaos and can bring structure where required.
You are hands-on and willing to do whatever it takes to get to launch readiness.
