Role Overview: As the Operations Lead at Tarrakki, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our back-office operations. You will manage and lead the operations team, overseeing various asset classes such as Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, and more. Your direct reports will be operations associates, and you will collaborate closely with our co-founders to scale our platform.
The Opportunity
This is not a typical operations role.
You will be building and leading the engine room of a high-growth wealth platform—one that is scaling towards ₹25,000 Cr+ AUM and processing large transaction volumes across Mutual Funds and Fixed Deposits.
We are looking for someone who doesn’t just “run ops” but thinks like a business leader—someone who can build systems, improve efficiency, manage scale, and create processes that don’t break under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Building
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance operations team
- Create a culture of ownership, accountability, speed, and accuracy
- Set up scalable operational structures and SOPs across the wealth business
- Hire, train, and manage operations associates across multiple workflows
Mutual Fund Operations
- Own the complete lifecycle of Mutual Fund transactions including:
- Purchases
- Redemptions
- SIPs
- Switches
- STPs
- SWPs
Manage Fixed Deposit operations across banks and NBFCs including:
- Shriram Finance
- Bajaj Finance
- Mahindra Finance
- Ensure smooth and accurate daily transaction processing
- Oversee investor onboarding and KYC journeys
- Manage exception handling and operational escalations
Reconciliation & Control
- Own reconciliation processes with RTAs and ecosystem participants
- Ensure accurate reconciliation with:
- CAMS
- KFintech
- Handle brokerage reconciliations across:
- Mutual Fund AMCs
- Fixed Deposit partners
- Partner/sub-broker payouts
- Build strong operational controls and escalation frameworks
Customer & Partner Support Infrastructure
- Set up and optimize partner and customer ticketing systems for efficient customer care and issue resolution
- Build scalable support workflows and escalation matrices
- Improve turnaround times and customer experience across the operations lifecycle
- Work closely with business teams to reduce operational friction for partners and customers
Partner & Ecosystem Management
- Coordinate with AMCs, RTAs, banks, and ecosystem partners for smooth daily operations
- Manage operational relationships with partners and sub-brokers
- Resolve operational issues and escalations with speed and clarity
- Build operational frameworks that can support 50,000+ partners over time
Product & Technology Collaboration
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to improve workflows and reduce manual dependencies
- Identify automation opportunities and operational inefficiencies
- Translate operational pain points into scalable product and technology solutions
- Help refine customer and partner journeys across the platform
Business Strategy & Leadership Collaboration
- Work closely with the CxO team on operational strategy, scale, and business growth plans
- Support leadership in building scalable operational infrastructure for future expansion
- Ensure operations directly support:
- AUM growth
- Better customer experience
- Faster partner onboarding
- Improved transaction reliability
- Enable the sales and business teams through strong operational execution
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum 8 years of experience in
- Wealth management operations
- Mutual Fund operations
- Financial services operations
- Broker or AMC operations
Deep understanding of:
- Mutual Fund operations
- Fixed Deposit products
- RTAs and reconciliation systems
- KYC and onboarding processes
- Prior experience handling large transaction volumes preferred
- NISM Series V-A certification preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong ownership mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Experience building and managing teams preferred
