Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the operations of our agricultural commodities division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, supply chain management, and operational efficiency. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of agricultural commodity production and distribution, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with suppliers, farmers, and logistics teams to optimize the supply chain from farm to market. Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and delivery of finished products.
- Responsible for P&L of the each customer accounts.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure that all products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Address any quality issues promptly.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for operational activities. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to agricultural production and food safety. Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans for growth and efficiency improvements in operations. Identify opportunities for process enhancements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies. Facilitate effective communication across all levels.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in operations management within the agricultural sector or related industries. Proven track record of managing supply chains effectively.
- Skills: Strong understanding of agricultural commodities and market dynamics.
