Our ecosystem operates at an incredible customer acquisition and tech ops cost per user. We handle the full journey, and we need elite operators who are ready to scale with us.
The Opportunity
At Nbyula, we operate like a pro sports team, not a family. We trade traditional corporate bureaucracy for extreme autonomyâbut we demand elite performance in return.
We're looking for an Operations Engineer. You will own a cohort of paying nbyula users from the moment they pay until they get an admit. However, this is not a traditional counsellor role, nor is it a CRM-pusher role. You will operate as an "AI Puppeteer." You will use our certified internal tooling and sit inside the workflow every single day, making you the first person to know what's broken, what's slow, and what our R&D team should build next. You'll work directly with product and engineering to ship those fixes.
This is a "be the operator, be the customer, be the PM" roleâthree hats, one person, every day.
What You'll Do
Forward-deployed engineer to run the nbyula user journey (â60% of time)
- Onboard the paid nbyula users within 24 hours and co-create a 6â12 month roadmap with them, closely observe, document and guide the journey for the agentic workflow.
- Co-use our AI tools and data âverify eligibility, deadlines, budgets, target intakes, SOPs, LORs, transcripts, financial proofs, and visa docs. Annotate the data and conversations bot in cases of optimal and sub-optimal outcomes.
- Stay on top of usersâ progress through the journey of planning, language & test prep, financial assistance, application filings, offer selection, financing, visa, remittances and post-landing support.
- Be the single point of contact the user trusts when something goes wrong.
Be the in-house product researcher & AI Sculptor (â30% of time)
- For every nbyula user touchpoint, log: what worked, what felt clunky, what cost us 30 minutes that a feature could've solved in 3.
- Actively shape our agentic workflows by converting your insights into weekly written notes shared with product and engineeringâ"here are the 3 things I'd build next, here's the data".
- Sit in on product reviews and fiercely defend what your nbyula users need from our AI ecosystem.
Make the system better (â10% of time)
- Help test and dogfood new internal tools, including our Ministry-backed AI assistants, dashboards, and workflows.
- Act as the ultimate AI puppeteer: Bring back honest feedbackâ"this AI tool hallucinated this requirement, and I caught it; here's how we should guard against that".
- Build better templates, construct playbooks, and document edge cases.
What We're Looking For
- Tech-Obsessed Generalist: A sharp generalist with a technical brain. You don't need to code, but you need to understand how software worksâAPIs, databases, automation, what an "if-this-then-that" rule is, and why some workflows are easy to automate and some aren't.
- Operator Instincts: You'd rather close 5 nbyula user loops cleanly than open 50 loosely.
- High Agency: Nobody will hand you a checklist of "the 27 things to do this week". You'll build the checklist, run it, and improve it.
- Comfortable with Ambiguity: Half the playbooks don't exist yet. You'll write the first version.
- Deeply User-Centric: Genuinely curious about nbyula users. You enjoy talking to 22-year-olds about their lives, not just their applications.
