Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Head – Smart Metering
Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh
Experience: 10 to 15 Years (Minimum 2-5 years in Smart Metering Sector)
Job Summary:
The Head – Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for Smart Metering is responsible for leading the end-to-end operations, maintenance, and performance of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) ecosystem. The role ensures high system uptime, data accuracy, seamless communication, and efficient field operations. This position requires strong leadership to manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders while driving operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
• Oversee daily operations of smart metering projects across the region.
• Ensure timely installation, commissioning, and maintenance of smart meters.
• Monitor field activities and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality
standards.
2. Maintenance & Service Delivery
• Ensure high system uptime and quick resolution of faults/issues.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Manage meter performance, communication network, and backend systems.
3. Team Leadership
• Lead and manage field teams, engineers, and support staff.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular training and performance reviews.
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for DISCOM and other stakeholders.
• Ensure client satisfaction through timely reporting and issue resolution.
• Attend review meetings and present project performance updates.
5. Financial & Cost Management
• Ensure achievement of revenue targets and billing milestones.
• Monitor operational costs and optimize expenses as per budget.
• Ensure healthy cash flow and timely invoicing/collections.
6. Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and performance analysis.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness.

• Strong knowledge of AMI/AMR systems and smart metering technology
• Expertise in project management and field operations

• Proficiency in MIS reporting and data analysis
Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical electronic engineering (Preferred)
• MBA/PGDM in Operations or Project Management (Added Advantage)
Preferred Industry Experience:
• Smart Metering / AMI Projects
• Power Distribution (DISCOMs)
• EPC / Utility Infrastructure Projects
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks in the power sector
