Position Overview

The AVP – Operational Risk role is responsible for developing and implementing methodologies to monitor and control operational risk across the organization. Reporting to the Risk Management function, this position leads the operational risk team and drives proactive measures to safeguard the organization’s risk profile.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organization’s Operational Risk Framework to ensure effective risk control and monitoring.
• Review and enhance risk management policies and processes covering Operational, BCP, IT, and Outsourcing Risks.
• Design and oversee the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework, including annual assessment planning and execution.
• Identify critical risk factors and implement mitigation plans in collaboration with business teams.
• Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRI) across the organization to enable early warning and timely intervention.
• Create analytical frameworks for continuous monitoring of operational health and performance.
• Ensure robust IT security measures are in place to mitigate emerging technology risks.
• Review and approve product and process changes from a risk management perspective.
• Continuously evaluate existing processes with a focus on automation and process improvement.
• Develop and maintain MIS for critical risk parameters to support informed decision-making.
  
  
  

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Education: CA / MBA (Finance) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience in Operational Risk / Operations within a Financial Institution.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage an operational risk team and collaborate with cross-functional business units.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Operational Risk Frameworks, RCSA, KRI, IT Security, and BCP processes.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrated analytical mindset, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, and decisiveness.
