1. Position Overview
The Operations & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse operations, dispatch planning, and coordination with production and sales teams to ensure timely and efficient order fulfillment. The role ensures optimal inventory management, smooth logistics execution, and adherence to company SOPs.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Warehouse Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of all warehouses (RM, PM, FG).
- Ensure proper inventory storage, handling, and FIFO/FEFO compliance.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure warehouse safety, hygiene, and compliance with regulatory standards.
B. Dispatch Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily/weekly dispatch plans based on sales orders and production output.
- Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods as per committed timelines.
- Optimize vehicle utilization and reduce logistics costs.
- Maintain dispatch documentation (invoice, e-way bill, LR copy, etc.).
C. Coordination with Production & Sales
- Coordinate with the production team for finished goods availability.
- Align dispatch schedules with sales requirements and priority orders.
- Communicate order status, delays, and challenges proactively to stakeholders.
- Support demand planning by sharing stock and dispatch updates.
D. Logistics & Transportation Management
- Manage transport vendors and negotiate freight rates.
- Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery (OTIF).
- Handle transit damages, shortages, and claims with transporters.
- Maintain transporter performance records.
E. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all logistics and warehouse documentation is accurate and updated.
- Maintain records for audits (internal and statutory).
- Ensure compliance with GST, e-way bill, and other regulatory requirements.
F. Process Improvement
- Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Implement SOPs for warehouse and logistics operations.
- Drive automation and system improvements (ERP/WMS).
3.Qualification & Experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management.
- 3–8 years of experience in warehouse and logistics operations (FMCG/Manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of dispatch planning, inventory control, and transportation.
5. Skills Required
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Planning and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar)
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Vendor management and negotiation skills
