💡 Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on OpenShift (OCP) Application Support Engineer with strong experience in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting containerized applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
This role is ideal for someone with L1/L2 production support experience, strong debugging skills, and a passion for ensuring high availability and reliability of applications in a cloud-native environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Deploy and manage containerized applications on OpenShift/Kubernetes
Collaborate with development teams for application onboarding, releases, and environment setup
Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift resources such as Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, and Secrets
Troubleshoot Issues Including
CrashLoopBackOff errors
Image pull failures
DNS and network-related issues
Configuration and deployment errors
Monitor application health using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager
Analyze logs using EFK stack (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana) or Splunk
Handle L1/L2 incident management, alerts, and escalations
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
Support application scaling, rollouts, and rollbacks
Manage Helm-based deployments and configurations
Ensure proper RBAC and access control for applications and users
Collaborate with infrastructure teams for environment dependencies
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and incident documentation
✅ Must-Have Skills
5+ years of overall experience with 3+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes (Application Support)
Strong hands-on experience in application deployment and troubleshooting on OCP
Solid understanding of Kubernetes core objects (Pods, Deployments, Services, etc.)
Experience in production support (L1/L2) and incident handling
Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Experience with logging tools (EFK stack / Splunk)
Hands-on experience with Helm
Good understanding of Docker and container lifecycle
Basic knowledge of networking (DNS, TCP/IP) in containerized environments
Strong Linux fundamentals and log analysis skills
