About the role

Open Secrets is hiring a Research Intern to assist with our work of investigating the influence of money in politics. The Research Intern will help collect, analyze, and report on data from federal campaign finance and lobbying disclosures. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit investigative reporting and analysis. Responsibilities may include: - Conducting research using OpenSecrets.org data to answer questions about the influence of money in politics - Assisting with data collection and verification - Contributing to reports, blog posts, and other written content - Providing other support to the research team as needed. Requirements: - Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student - Strong research, analytical, and writing skills - Interest and some knowledge of campaign finance, lobbying, and/or money in politics - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is a plus - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Excellent attention to detail.
