Role ObjectiveWe are seeking a skilled and patient-centric OPD Ophthalmologist to join our clinical team. The primary focus of this role is to provide expert diagnostic consultations, manage various ocular diseases in an outpatient setting, and identify patients requiring surgical intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Consultations: Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, refraction, and slit-lamp examinations.
- Diagnosis & Management: Diagnose and manage common and complex eye conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, corneal disorders, and uveitis.
- Surgical Screening: Evaluate and counsel patients for various ophthalmic surgeries, including Cataract (Phacoemulsification), refractive surgeries, and oculoplasty.
- Diagnostic Imaging: Interpret diagnostic tests including OCT, B-Scan, Visual Fields (Perimetry), and Topography.
- Emergency Care: Provide immediate care for ophthalmic emergencies such as foreign body removal, chemical burns, or acute glaucoma.
- Patient Education: Clearly explain diagnoses and treatment plans to patients and their families, emphasizing preventive eye care.
- Rural Outreach: Participate in community eye camps and screening programs as part of the hospital’s mission to reach underserved populations.
Requirements & Qualifications- Education: MBBS with a post-graduate degree (MS, MD, DNB) or Diploma (DO) in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
- Registration: Must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Jharkhand State Medical Council.
- Experience: 0–5 years of clinical experience (Freshers with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in indirect ophthalmoscopy and 90D examination.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Hindi and English (knowledge of Bengali/Odia is a plus).
- Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient safety.
