Role Description The Senior Pipeline Engineer_Onshore will lead and execute onshore pipeline engineering activities for oil and gas projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient designs. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bengaluru South and involves preparing and reviewing pipeline design calculations, route selection, alignment sheets, and technical documentation. Daily responsibilities include assessing pipeline integrity and corrosion issues, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting construction and commissioning, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. The role also involves collaborating with clients, participating in design reviews, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations, and recommending inspection and maintenance strategies for operating pipelines.
Onshore Pipeline Engineer – 5 to 15 years’ experience in Onshore pipelines.
About the Role
Working within the pipeline design team on onshore pipeline projects and ensuring Onshore Pipeline design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project.
Responsibilities
- Experience in feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design, PMC and EPC / EPCM projects.
- Experience in working on onshore pipeline design activities (Mandatory Requirement) such as:
- Technically competent in discipline, actively maintains competence according to standards, and pursues continuous professional development.
- Familiar with the design and construction of metallic and non-metallic pipeline designs and their respective international codes.
- Preparation and checking of FEED and Detailed design pipeline scope related deliverables.
- Supported pipeline routing activities and valve placement studies to ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and operational standards.
- Preparation and checking of pipeline mechanical calculations for pipeline systems (wall thickness, induction bend wall thickness, road/ rail calculations, upheaval buckling, fracture assessment, buoyancy control…etc).
- Preparation and checking of pipeline specialty Items specifications, data sheets, Material requisitions and TBEs (i.e. Scrapper launcher and receiver, barred tee, Line pipe, scraper signaller, induction bends, full bore ball and through conduit gate and check valves, isolating joint, pipeline flanged, fittings, chemical injection quills, Corrosion coupons, etc.).
- Preparation and checking of pipeline construction specifications, External coating and FJC, and SOW for construction.
- Preparation and checking of pipeline drawings (i.e. Alignment sheets, route maps, crossing drawings, approach drawings, isometrics, pipeline typical drawings, field area layouts, etc.).
- Preparation and checking of pipeline survey scope of work.
- Preparation and checking of pipeline schematic diagram.
- Preparation and checking of the pipeline crossing matrix.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline material take-off and Pipeline material specifications.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline stress analysis and report using CAESAR II and AUTO Pipe.
- Familiar with Scrapers station, BVS, and associated piping design.
- Able to manage vendor documents for specialty items like scrapper launcher and receiver, barred tee, Line pipe, scraper signaller (intrusive and non-intrusive), induction bends, full bore ball and through conduit gate and check valves, isolating joint, pipeline flanged, fittings, chemical injection quills, Corrosion coupons, etc.
- Familiar with pipeline-related technical reports like route selection, valve station location selections, etc.
- Provide discipline support to the business.
- Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments and promote direct reports.
- Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution.
- Knowledge of USGC (United states gulf coast) regulations shall be added advantage.
Qualifications
Software Knowledge (Discipline Specific): MS Office, CAESAR II and/or Autopipe, MathCAD.
