Job details:
GenWise is hiring part-time Online Student Coaches for a new gifted education program under Godrej Tomorrow-Makers.
This is a remote, paid role for teachers, tutors, and graduates who want a meaningful education commitment alongside their regular work.
About the program
Tomorrow-Makers is a national platform built by the Godrej Foundation to identify promising young people from low-income backgrounds and connect them to the mentors, institutions, and communities that can help them grow.
GenWise has spent over 10 years building programs for gifted learners in India, with more than 2,000 alumni across the 10-14 age band. This pilot brings that work to students who are highly capable, but rarely get access to the right kind of academic nurturing.
The role
Each student will be part of a small online group led by two adults: a mentor and a coach.
The mentor is the subject expert. The coach is the steady weekly presence.
As a coach, you will support about 30 students through the program. You run a weekly content delivery session of roughly 90 minutes, using materials and videos prepared by mentors, have an optional problem solving session if needed, stay in touch over WhatsApp through the week, and have a 30-minute 1:1 with each student three times during the program.
You do not need to be a math or science expert. Comfort with school-level math and science up to Grade 10 is enough. Your role is to notice who is confused, who is quiet, who has stopped showing up, and who needs a nudge or a conversation at the right time.
Time commitment
This is designed to fit alongside a day job. If you are a school teacher, you can take this role only with the permission of your school principal.
The usual commitment is about 6 hours per week. During three short 1:1 conversation windows, the load may rise to about 7.5 hours per week for 2-3 weeks.
The program requires a 6-month commitment, with cohorts beginning in July or August 2026.
Compensation
INR 8,000-10,000 per month, paid as a stipend.
Who we are looking for
We especially welcome school teachers from regular or alternative schools who are looking for a thoughtful side commitment. Graduates with tutoring, mentoring, or youth-work experience are also encouraged to apply.
You should have:
- A graduate degree in any discipline
- Comfort with Grade 9-10 math and science
- Interest in conceptual, inquiry-based learning
- Fluency in Hindi and English
- Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, or another Indian language as a strong plus
- A smartphone and reliable internet
- Warmth, patience, listening ability, and follow-through
What you will receive
You will receive a clear training fortnight before students join, ongoing support from the mentor and GenWise operations team, and formal recognition as part of the Godrej Tomorrow-Makers family.
