POSITION SUMMARY:
Support powder coat team in creating high quality powder coated products manufactured for OMT-Veyhl and for outside customers.
SCHEDULE: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM - Monday thru Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload powder coat line. Perform some assembly while parts are hanging on the powder coat line using both power tools and hand tools.
- Check quality of powder finish and wash. Identify quality problems in gloss, evenness of finish, and color and bring to Logistics Coordinator’s attention.
- Maintain powder coat equipment.
- Work through daily schedule to provide on-time delivery and high-quality components.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated and energetic.
- Mechanically minded.
- Must have quality mindset.
- Must have visual acuity to see quality and finish defects (gloss, etc.).
- Must be a minimum of 5’8” tall for safety purposes to work with line trolley for load & unload.
- Must have excellent color vision.
- Has respect for equipment and cleanliness of work area.
- Must be a team player.
- Is service-focused for both internal and external customers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required. Technical school helpful.
- Powder coat experience desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers.
- Frequently required to remain stationary, with occasional movement within the facility.
- Constant operation of equipment and handling of materials requiring dexterity, grip, and detection of minute details.
- May need to ascend/descend and position themselves around equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Frequently required to move, lift, and transport components, tools, and equipment ranging from 10 to 60 pounds.
- Specific abilities required include close-up perception, distance observation, color distinction, and focus adjustment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Functions in a factory environment with assembly and welding operations.
- Noise level is occasionally loud, and the environment is occasionally dusty.
