Overview:
Maintains safe and secure environment for employees and customers by patrolling and monitoring premises; reports irregularities or hazards, directs traffic and escorts employees and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains safe and secure environment.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property.
- Checks for safety/fire hazards, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons.
- Checks doors and windows of building to ensure they are locked and secure.
- Reports irregularities or hazards.
- Investigates and reports irregularities or hazards.
- Obtains help by sounding alarm or contacting appropriate authorities or management.
- Directs traffic and escorts employees and customers.
- Controls traffic by directing drivers.
- Provides directions and escorts customers to proper areas.
- Escorts employees to their vehicles after hours.
- May need to work “off hours” based on situation or need.
- Must obtain CSP designation within 3 years of employment.
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment that utilizes audible alarms and signals.
- Effectively communicate using radios and telephones in manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate visual recognition of workplace hazards.
- Read and comprehend labels and MSDS sheets.
- Work in high elevations and in enclosed spaces with proper permitting and PPE.
- Work in seasonal conditions (rain/snow, hot/cold weather).
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
- Skill in observing situations and decision making.
- Skill in dealing courteously with employees and customers.
- High school education or GED (preferred).
- One year experience in policy or security field (preferred).
