Mid-Level Speech Scientist/ Engineer

Omilia is hiring for Full Time Mid-Level Speech Scientist/ Engineer - Greece - Remote, a senior-level AI/ML/Data Science role offering benefits such as career development. Key Accountabilities: Developing, optimizing & deploying state-of-the-art speech solutions: Automatic speech recognition Voice activity detection Speech enhancement Requirements MSc/Phd degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject Experience in machine learning, deep learning, speech applications including ASR, VAD, Speech enhancement. Extensive experience with speech recognition software such as PyTorch, Kaldi/K2, ESPnet, WeNet, OpenFST, Whisper Knowledge of modern speech recognition technologies: Voice Activity Detection, Automatic Speech Recognition, Speech enhancement (echo canceller (AEC), background noise reduction (NR)). MLOps - AWS experience and cloud deployments (Kubernetes, Docker, Git) Strong programming ability (Python and optionally C/C++) Excellent command of spoken and written English. Very good communication skills. Ambition, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn, aptitude for analytical and creative thinking, with sharp attention to detail. Well-organized for both team and/ or solo assignments. Accountable within demanding deadlines. Nice to have: Experience with customization of ASR solutions Experience with end-to-end speech recognition (Connectionist Temporal Classification, RNN Transducer, attention-based models) Experience with robust speech recognition in real-life environment
