Assistant Volleyball Coach
Salary: $4,000 stipend
Classification: Part-Time
Reports to: Athletic Director
Olympic College is currently in search of Assistant Volleyball Coach. The Assistant Volleyball Coach plays a vital role in supporting the Olympic College Athletic Department and theDivision of Student Development and Engagement. This position contributes to the success of the volleyball program by providing skill-specific instruction, assisting with team strategy and game preparation, and fostering leadership, discipline, and personal growth among student-athletes.Working under the direction of the Head Coach and Athletic Director, the Assistant Coach supports the planning and execution of practices, training sessions, and competitive events, while aiding in athlete development and team culture. This role enhances the overall student-athlete experience and supports the college’s commitment to academic achievement, wellness, equity, and inclusive engagement.
Position Duties
The Assistant Volleyball Coach supports the leadership and management of all facets of the Olympic College Volleyball program, with a focus on excellence in both athletics and academics. Core responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design and implementation of training and competition schedules
- Supporting recruitment and retention efforts for student-athletes
- Helping manage program resources and operational needs
- Ensuring compliance with institutional and conference policies
- Promoting academic progress and personal development of student-athletes
- Collaborating with athletic staff and campus partners to align program goals with college values
This role serves as a mentor and role model, promoting a culture of integrity, teamwork, and resilience.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher form an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the collegiate level.
- Demonstrated experience in managing program operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven success in assisting with recruiting and mentoring student-athletes in alignment with academic and athletic standards.
Desired Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Sports Management, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience working within the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) or a similar collegiate athletic association is highly desirable.

Assistant Coaches will be paid $4,000 of stipend.
Conditions of Employment
- Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. In addition to the background check, candidates will be required to complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required WB HB 2327.
- The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring. Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
