The Packaging Specialist I is charged with executing their work with the highest quality and most efficient output of the Packaging Department in mind.

Primary functions
Handle Ready To Eat (RTE) food in accordance with all HACCP program guidelines and Allergen Separation Plans including but not limited to meat, pet treats and pickles
Inspect product for quality throughout the process
Use scissors to clip sausages
Package RTE foods in accordance with SOPs
Use common and specialized food packaging and labeling equipment in accordance with training
Complete basic data capture forms throughout production
Handle production and packaging materials in a safe and sanitary manner. Including plastic, metal, glass and cardboard
Use material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks
Know and follow all OP policies
Wrap and label salami

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a production warehouse environment. Exposure to cold temperatures and noise from machinery are common.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. With an unpaid 30 minute lunch period. Overtime, weekends and Holidays may be required.
Preferred Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent.
