We are currently looking for an
OKTA Support Engineer to join the Identity & Access Management (IAM) team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the enterprise OKTA platform within a 24x7 global support model. This is a hands-on operational role where you will handle incidents, service requests, and platform configurations, while also contributing to advanced troubleshooting, governance, and continuous service improvement. You will play a key role in ensuring secure and seamless authentication experiences, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior resources.
Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Jamshedpur
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working hours: 24x7 global support (rotational shifts)
What You’ll Do
- Handle L2 and L3 incidents and service requests related to OKTA, ensuring timely resolution and SLA adherence.
- Act as an escalation point for complex issues involving MFA, SSO, authentication, and access management.
- Perform day-to-day OKTA administration including group updates, policy changes, and application access management.
- Support user lifecycle management (Joiner / Mover / Leaver activities) and third-party access provisioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve authentication issues across SSO, MFA, and login flows.
- Participate in Major Incident Management (P1/P2), including bridge calls, root cause analysis, and remediation actions.
- Support OKTA agent lifecycle including deployment, upgrades, patching, and health monitoring (AD / LDAP agents).
- Manage access governance activities including admin access provisioning, service account management, and periodic attestations.
- Maintain and update CMDB records, OKTA-mastered application lists, and approver configurations.
- Manage network zone configurations and IP whitelisting.
- Execute changes in line with defined SOPs, runbooks, and change management processes.
- Support audit and compliance activities, including access reviews and evidence gathering.
- Provide hypercare support for new implementations, upgrades, and platform changes.
- Maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and technical knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with L3 SMEs and IAM leadership on platform stability and service improvements.
- Mentor L2 team members and provide guidance on issue resolution and best practices.
Who We’re Looking For
- 4 –10 years of experience in IAM, IT Support, or System Administration roles.
- Hands-on experience with OKTA administration and support in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of authentication concepts including SSO, MFA, and identity federation.
- Experience handling incidents, service requests, and working in 24x7 support models.
- Familiarity with directory services such as Active Directory / Azure AD.
- Experience with protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and LDAP.
- Knowledge of access governance, service accounts, and certification processes.
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and incident/change management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in large, global enterprise environments.
- Exposure to IAM governance, audit, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience mentoring junior team members or leading small technical initiatives.
- OKTA certifications such as OKTA Certified Professional or Administrator.
- Security certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
