Internship Overview As an Analyst Intern in Basketball Operations, you will play a vital role in uncovering data-driven insights that directly influence the Thunder's strategic decisions. From informing player evaluation to optimizing team performance, your contributions will help shape the foundation for long-term organizational success. You'll engage with the full data pipeline—designing, building, and maintaining information systems; performing statistical analysis and predictive modeling; and communicating results through clear, actionable presentations. Key Responsibilities - Analyze large, complex datasets to solve real-world basketball operations problems - Conduct statistical modeling and predictive analysis to support strategic decision-making - Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization - Present findings through impactful reports, visualizations, and presentations - Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal data systems and tools Qualifications - Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field - Proficiency with analytical tools such as R (e.g., Tidyverse), Python, and SQL - Experience with data wrangling, visualization, and database management - Familiarity with technologies such as Shiny, Markdown, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS is a plus - Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information responsibly - A passion for basketball and sports is strongly preferred Additional Details - This is a remote, paid internship within the Insight & Foresight team - Schedule flexibility is required, including potential evening, weekend, and holiday hours - Total work hours will not exceed 29 hours per week
