Job Description – Officer on Special Duty (MOD Role)

Job Summary
The Officer on Special Duty or (OSD) is responsible for overseeing smooth hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring effective interdepartmental coordination, managing patient service issues, handling escalations, and maintaining operational efficiency and service quality across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily hospital operations during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments for smooth functioning.
• Handle patient/attendant complaints and operational escalations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, safety, and quality standards.
• Monitor staff discipline, attendance, and service readiness.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate timely resolution.
• Prepare shift reports and maintain operational records.
• Support process improvement and patient experience initiatives.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Management, Healthcare, or related field.
Preferred Experience:
3-5 years of Experience in Hospital Operations / Healthcare Administration / Patient Services.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary offered 4.50 to 5.50 LPA
