About the Internship
As a Legal and Compliance, you'll support the legal aspects of our investment activities and help ensure we operate in compliance with all relevant regulations. You'll gain exposure to venture capital legal work, from investment documentation to regulatory compliance.
We're particularly interested in candidates pursuing or having completed law degrees (LLB, LLM, JD) or GDL/SQE but are open to candidates from related backgrounds with strong interest in legal work.
What you’ll do
- Document Review: Assist with reviewing and organizing investment documents, term sheets, and shareholder agreements
- Legal Research: Conduct research on UK company law, securities regulation, and venture capital best practices
- Due Diligence Support: Help with legal due diligence on potential investments, reviewing corporate documents and identifying issues
- Compliance Tracking: Support compliance monitoring and help maintain compliance documentation
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and documenting internal policies and procedures
- Contract Management: Help organize and maintain contract databases and legal files
- Regulatory Research: Research regulatory requirements and developments affecting venture capital firms
- External Counsel Coordination: Support coordination with external legal counsel on transactions
Who are you
- Experience operating in a commercial law enviroment
- Interest in corporate law, venture capital, or financial services
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work with complex legal documents
- Understanding of UK company law and contract principles
Compensation
This position offers a competitive stipend to support your living expenses during the internship period.
