Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ocean Air Pricing role based in Chennai. The Ocean Air Pricing specialist is responsible for preparing competitive and accurate freight rates for ocean and air shipments, including exports and imports, in line with customer and trade lane requirements. Daily tasks include liaising with carriers, consolidators, and partners to obtain updated tariffs, negotiating rates and surcharges, and maintaining pricing databases and tools. The role involves responding to customer and internal inquiries, supporting the sales and operations teams with timely quotations, and ensuring that all pricing complies with company policies and industry regulations. The specialist will also track market trends, monitor carrier performance, and collaborate in continuous process improvements to enhance service quality and profitability.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills to interact effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Customer Service experience to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and support client needs in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of Export and Freight operations, including ocean and air cargo, trade lanes, and related documentation.
- Ability to provide Training and share pricing and process knowledge with colleagues when required.
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management, preferably in pricing or operations.
- Attention to detail and numerical accuracy for rate calculations, margin analysis, and data entry.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and other relevant software tools for managing quotes and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, manage multiple requests, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, international trade, business, or a related field is preferred.
