Company Description RAAH – A New Hope Begins provides counseling and special education services for children who need additional emotional, behavioral, and psychological support. The organization works with children experiencing learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, and related developmental challenges that require specialized interventions. In addition to therapeutic services, RAAH offers IQ, personality, career, and other psycho-educational assessments to better understand each child’s unique needs. The team focuses on creating individualized plans that promote growth, independence, and improved daily functioning for children and their families.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Mumbai. The Occupational Therapist will assess children with developmental, behavioral, and learning challenges to identify their functional needs in daily activities, school routines, and social participation. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and implementing individualized therapy plans, conducting one-on-one and small-group sessions, and using child-centered interventions to build motor, sensory, cognitive, and self-care skills. The role involves close collaboration with counselors, special educators, and families to ensure coordinated care, regular progress updates, and practical strategies that can be used at home and in school. The Occupational Therapist will also maintain accurate documentation, participate in case discussions, and contribute to ongoing program development.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and therapy for children with developmental and learning challenges.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Medicine relevant to child development, neurology, and mental health as applied in therapeutic practice.
- Candidates should possess skills in Rehabilitation, focusing on improving functional independence, sensory integration, motor skills, and daily living activities.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for working with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including clear documentation and reporting.
- Candidates should possess experience or interest in Pediatrics, particularly in working with children with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and behavioral concerns.
- Recognized degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution; appropriate professional registration or license as required.
- Experience in school-based or pediatric therapy settings is preferred, along with the ability to design engaging, play-based interventions.
- Strong observational skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
