Role Description The Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident at Apollo Clinic Deoghar will be responsible for providing supervised care to patients across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. Day-to-day tasks include taking detailed histories, performing physical examinations, assisting in deliveries and gynecological procedures, participating in prenatal and postnatal care, and managing common obstetric and gynecologic conditions under guidance. The resident will document clinical encounters, contribute to treatment plans, follow clinical protocols, and participate in case discussions, teaching rounds, and morbidity and mortality meetings. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, counseling patients and families, and adhering to infection control and patient safety standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Deoghar.
Qualifications
- Completed MBBS from a recognized institution and enrollment in, or eligibility for, an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency or equivalent training program.
- Foundational clinical skills in obstetric and gynecologic examination, basic emergency management, and assisting in deliveries and minor procedures.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical abilities, including history taking, clinical reasoning, and use of evidence-based guidelines.
- Effective communication skills for patient counseling, informed consent, and collaboration with medical, nursing, and support staff.
- Capacity to work in high-pressure clinical environments, with attention to detail, time management, and ethical decision-making.
- Commitment to continuous learning, participation in academic activities, and openness to feedback from supervisors and senior clinicians.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems and electronic medical records or willingness to learn clinic documentation tools.
- Registration with the appropriate medical council and adherence to professional, legal, and institutional policies and standards.
