Object Construction is a scenic fabrication shop who is creating engaging and over-the-top creative scenic production for global media and technology brands. Originally founded in London, Object moved to California in 2018. Since, there are now over 60 diverse skilled craftsmen and administrative staff with a passion for creative fabrication. We continue to press and challenge ourselves every day to innovate, create, and push forward a new standard of design and fabrication.
Object Construction is in search of a Shop Foreman who is looking for a new and fresh take on the role. You must be experienced with the day-to-day operations of a fabrication shop floor and have the ability to lead and manage a small team of grips. You will be asked to delegate duties such as daily clean up, moving of scenery, packing/loading of trucks, and more.

Additional responsibilities include:
You must possess knowledge of and have the ability to repair all shop tools & equipment including but not limited to compressors, forklifts, table saws, and all other wood working machines.
You must assist in maintaining a safe working environment by completing daily safety inspections and monthly safety meetings, maintaining all fire safety protection, and keeping staff heavy equipment certifications current.
You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet difficult deadlines.
You must have the ability to read blueprints.
You should have computer skills to utilize inventory tracking software, monitor shop expendables (such as hardware, adhesives, fasteners), and reconcile basic credit card expenses.
You should display strong organization and communication skills.
You should anticipate and address shop floor inefficiencies.
You should have knowledge of ongoing jobs on the shop floor and notice any shortcomings in quality control.

Pay: Non-exempt Hourly Overtime Eligible - $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
