Position Profile
We are looking for a High School Art Teacher who is responsible for teaching visual arts while integrating Christian principles, fostering creativity, and supporting students’ spiritual, academic, and personal growth.
General Responsibilities
- Teach art classes (drawing, painting, sculpture, design, etc.) across grade levels
- Develop lesson plans aligned with school standards and a Christian worldview
- Encourage creative expression while maintaining structure and skill development
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment
- Manage are supplies, tools, and safety procedures
- Display student artwork and organize exhibitions or showcases
- Assess and evaluate student progress in both artistic skills and effort
- Encourage confidence, originality, and stewardship of talents
- Provide individualized feedback and support
- Communicate with parents, staff, and administration
- Participate in school events (chapel, staff meetings, open houses, conferences)

- Reports to Secondary Principal

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate K-12 Art Endorsement (LX)
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Faithfully attend a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school
- Agree to uphold to Oakland Christian’s Statement of Faith
