Job Title: NVOCC Import Staff
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented NVOCC Import Staff to handle import shipment operations, coordinate with customers, shipping lines, ports, CFS/ICD facilities, and ensure smooth clearance and delivery processes. The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of experience in import operations within an NVOCC, freight forwarding, or shipping company environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import shipment operations from vessel arrival to final delivery.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, agents, customers, transporters, CFS/ICD, and port authorities regarding import cargo movements.
- Monitor vessel schedules, arrival notices, and shipment status updates.
- Verify and process import documentation, including Bill of Lading, Delivery Order, Arrival Notice, Manifest, and related shipping documents.
- Coordinate delivery order release and container movement with shipping lines and depots.
- Track import containers and ensure timely de-stuffing, return, and closure of shipments.
- Maintain accurate records and update shipment details in the operational system.
- Liaise with customs brokers and customers to facilitate smooth cargo clearance.
- Monitor detention, demurrage, and storage charges and take proactive actions to minimize costs.
- Resolve operational issues, shipment discrepancies, and customer inquiries promptly.
- Prepare daily operational reports and provide shipment updates to management and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and shipping regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Shipping, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in NVOCC import operations, freight forwarding, or shipping logistics.
- Good understanding of import documentation and container movement processes.
- Familiarity with port, CFS, ICD, and depot operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational software systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and shipping documentation.
- Experience coordinating with shipping lines, container depots, transporters, and CHA partners.
- Understanding of detention, demurrage, and container control processes.
