Job Description: Operation Theatre (OT) In-Charge
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Operation Theatre (OT) In-Charge to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the operation theatre, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, maintain patient safety standards, and coordinate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Operation Theatre (OT).
- Ensure OT readiness, including equipment availability, sterilisation, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff, and other departments for the smooth conduct of surgical procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and patient safety standards.
- Monitor OT scheduling, resource utilisation, and staff allocation.
- Maintain OT records, documentation, inventory, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and applicable clinical protocols.
- Supervise and guide OT staff to maintain operational efficiency and high standards of patient care.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Educational Qualification: B.Sc.
- Experience: 10–15 years of relevant experience in Operation Theatre management or supervision.
- Strong knowledge of OT protocols, sterilisation procedures, infection control, and surgical safety.
- Good team management, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage OT operations efficiently in a hospital environment.
