*Role Summary*
The Nursing Head is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient nursing operations, and compliance with clinical standards. This role oversees nursing staff, drives patient safety initiatives, and ensures smooth coordination across clinical departments.
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. Clinical Quality & Patient Care*
Ensure delivery of high-quality nursing care aligned with clinical protocols
Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, and incident reports
Drive continuous improvement in patient safety and care standards
*2. Nursing Operations & Manpower Management*
Manage staffing, duty rosters, and workforce planning
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
Maintain skill matrix and allocate resources effectively
*3. Infection Control & Compliance*
Implement infection control protocols to prevent HAIs
Ensure compliance with NABH/JCI guidelines and internal policies
Oversee biomedical waste (BMW) management and hygiene practices
*4. Medical Records & Documentation*
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records
Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
*5. Patient Flow Management*
Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges
Coordinate with doctors and operations team for seamless patient movement
*6. Patient Experience & Service Excellence*
Ensure compassionate, patient-centric care delivery
Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements
Maintain discipline, grooming, and professional conduct of staff
*7. Inventory & Resource Management*
Manage nursing inventory, equipment, and supplies
Ensure timely maintenance and availability of critical resources
*8. Cost Control & Efficiency*
Optimize staffing costs and reduce overtime
Prevent revenue leakage and ensure proper billing coordination
*9. Training & Development*
Conduct regular training as per L&D calendar
Mentor and develop nursing staff for leadership roles
Ensure continuous skill enhancement and compliance training
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
100% adherence to quality indicators & incident reporting
High patient satisfaction scores (≥4.5/5)
100% compliance in medical records and audits
Zero tolerance for infection control violations
Effective cost management and operational efficiency
Minimum 4 hours/month training per staff
*Qualifications & Experience*
GNM / B.Sc Nursing (M.Sc Nursing preferred)
8–15 years of clinical experience
Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership/administrative role
Experience In Hospital Or Home Healthcare Setup Preferred
