Senior Software Engineer, Sensing

As a Senior Software Engineer, Sensing, you will play a key role in developing and improving the perception and prediction systems that power Nuro's autonomous vehicle platform. You will work across the full stack, from algorithm design and implementation to deploying and operating these systems in the real world. Core Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and deploy core perception and prediction algorithms for autonomous driving, including object detection, tracking, and behavior prediction. - Develop efficient, robust, and scalable software systems to run these algorithms in real-time on Nuro's vehicle platforms. - Collaborate closely with our robotics, machine learning, and hardware teams to integrate your work into a cohesive autonomous driving stack. - Own the testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring of your systems in Nuro's production environments. - Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and other engineering processes to continuously improve our codebase and engineering practices. Qualifications: - 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, with a strong background in computer vision, robotics, or autonomous systems. - Expertise in C++ and/or Python, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. - Experience developing and deploying real-time perception or prediction systems, ideally in the context of autonomous vehicles or robotics. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and disciplines. - Master's degree or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
