About LLF
Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) (www.languageandlearningfoundation.org) is a system-focused and impact-driven non-profit organization, headquartered in New Delhi, working at scale to improve Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) outcomes for children in government primary schools across India. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Dhir Jhingran, LLF operates on the belief that a strong foundation ensures a stronger future — and that large-scale transformation in teaching and learning is essential to address India's learning crisis. LLF works in close collaboration with state governments, with a focused emphasis on three core pillars: systemic reform, demonstration programs, and continuous professional development of teachers and academic functionaries.
About LLF's Programs
Language and Learning Foundation works in collaboration with state governments across 10 states in India to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through three core program streams:
- State-Level Technical Support — Providing technical support to state governments in instructional design, resource development, capacity building, and policy reform to drive systemic improvement in FLN at scale.
- District Demonstration Programs — Implementing demonstration programs in select districts to transform classroom teaching and learning practices, learning outcomes, generating evidence and models that inform state-level scale-up.
- Continuous Professional Development — Developing and delivering structured courses and training programs for teachers and teacher educators to build long-term pedagogical capacity in FLN.
