Job Purpose
- The Application Engineer is responsible for ensuring the products integration with end use are flow into the Optimizing of the products and effectively meet the System level requirement.
- With a strong mechanical engineering foundation, the role bridges product design, system integration, customer requirements, and on application performance, ensuring that new products meet functional, environmental, regulatory, and operational expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure integration of products in Application meeting customer requirements
- Translate customer requirements into clear application and system constraints defining the criticality of each parameters in the design
- Own mechanical fitment, packaging, mounting, and interface compatibility at system level
- Drive application‑level validation for Performance, thermal, NVH, durability, Etc
- Support prototype builds, Application integration, and launch readiness activities
- Identify and resolve application and integration issues early in the development cycle
- Collaborate with design, testing, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers for closure
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards and customer specifications
- Capture lessons learned and establish reusable application guidelines across platforms and towards improvement of the Products
- Contribute to cost, weight, reliability, and scalability improvements for series production
Skills required
Technical Skills
- Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
- Automotive system application & integration experience
- Expertise in Packaging, fitment, mounting, tolerance stack‑ups
- Thermal, NVH, vibration, durability concepts
- Understanding of vehicle-level architecture
- Exposure to Sensors, actuators, harness routing (interface-level)
- DFMEA / problem-solving methodologies
- CAD proficiency (interface & application level)
- Familiarity with Automotive development lifecycle (APQP, SOP, Launch)
- OEM specifications and validation processes
- Ability to interpret simulation and test results
Soft Skills
- Strong system thinking and application mindset
- Excellent technical communication with customers and internal teams
- Structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Ability to work in cross-functional and matrix organizations
- Decision-making under ambiguity during NPD phases
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
Experience
8– 12 years
Preference
- Experience in Automotive/Aerospace Application Engineering / System Integration
- Strong exposure to New Product Development (Concept → SOP / Launch)
- Experience working with global OEMs or Tier‑1 customers
- Hands‑on involvement in vehicle integration, prototype builds, testing, and launch support
