Role Description The NPD (New Product Development) and Toolroom Head for Injection Moulding is a full-time, on-site role based in Faridabad. This role oversees end-to-end new product development activities, from concept feasibility and design review to tooling development, trial, and production handover. The position manages the toolroom, including mould maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine and tool performance. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with cross-functional teams (production, quality, sales, and procurement), monitoring project timelines, optimizing costs, and implementing continuous improvements in tooling and development processes. The role also involves supplier and customer interaction for technical discussions, resolving product and tooling issues, and maintaining documentation related to product and tool lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong Product Strategy and Product Management skills to define NPD roadmaps, align with customer needs, and manage multiple development projects.
- Experience in Product Lifecycle Management, including concept development, prototyping, validation, and production release for injection-moulded components.
- Robust Analytical Skills to interpret technical data, diagnose tooling and process issues, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Exposure to Sales and customer-facing activities, including technical presentations, cost discussions, and support for new business opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of injection moulding processes, mould design and maintenance, and toolroom operations.
- Ability to lead and mentor toolroom and NPD teams, with strong planning, delegation, and performance management capabilities.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools and familiarity with GD&T, material selection, and part design for manufacturability.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Production Engineering, or a related technical field; prior experience in automotive plastics is highly beneficial.
