Title: Research Assistant, Psychology Department, Racial Equity and Liberation (REAL) Lab (Remote)

Position Reports to: Principal Investigator/Faculty in Psychology Department
II. Basic Functions
The Research Assistant is responsible for supporting an ongoing 3-year project focused on Black neurodivergent youth and their families.
III. Essential Functions
- Data Collection and Management
- Recruit and screen participants (families, youth).
- Administer surveys via Qualtrics, interviews, and observational assessments.
- Enter, clean, and organize quantitative and qualitative data.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and secure data storage in compliance with IRB protocols.
- Literature Review and Synthesis
- Conduct systematic literature searches on topics such as neurodiversity, racial equity, culturally responsive education, and family advocacy.
- Summarize and annotate peer-reviewed articles for research reports and manuscripts.
- Assist in developing conceptual frameworks grounded in intersectionality and developmental psychology.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using SPSS.
- Code and analyze qualitative data using Dedoose.
- Create tables, figures, and visualizations for presentations and manuscripts.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, conference abstracts, and poster design.
- Assist in preparing PowerPoint slides and handouts for academic and community presentations.
- Help draft sections of grant proposals or progress reports.

Required Education
High School diploma (minimum requirement).
Bachelors degree in Psychology or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Working Conditions: This position is 85 percent remote with 15% travel.
Level: Functions with minimal supervision the job functions and additional responsibilities as assigned by the faculty and principal investigator of the project.
