About the role
- Purpose of Position
To provide general management leadership and direction on an assigned shift to ensure the overall provision of excellent service and products to casino guests and internal customers. The position is given the authority to act in the absence of general management when operational issues arise.
- Duties and Responsibilites
- Proactively monitors all casino operations on an assigned shift to ensure the delivery of quality customer service and products.
- Provides leadership and serves as a key decision maker and representative of executive management.
- Maintains high visibility throughout the property by continually circulating for the duration of the shift.
- Interacts with department supervision during the shift to determine the status of operations. Maintains communication with other management personnel on and off shift via a variety of communication methods to efficiently address departmental issues.
- Makes recommendations to departments both verbally and in writing regarding his or her observations on assigned shift. Complete the Manager on Duty shift report prior to leaving assigned shift.
- Monitors internal and external conditions of property including, but not limited to cleanliness, casino temperature, atmosphere, and safety.
- Monitors staff levels in all departments and recommends or directs adjustments to meet business levels in coordination with department management and supervision.
- Coordinates with Surveillance, Security, Tribal Gaming and outside enforcement agencies as the lead representative for the casino on the assigned shift. Assists with Security to determine appropriate cut offs.
- May directly assign and/or reassign staff from any department to complete tasks as needed to meet business needs. May assist in the direct operation of a department as needed.
- May make gaming ruling decisions in coordination with Tribal Gaming and other management personnel.
- Deals directly with casino guests as the lead customer service representative on property and resolves issues in coordination with other management personnel and casino hosts.
- Promotes an environment throughout the casino of compliance and service within the established guidelines, policies and procedures of the casino and governing agencies.
- Monitors customer volume levels and traffic and effects changes as needed to meet business demands.
- Promotes positive employee relations and communicates and coordinates with appropriate departments and Human Resources when necessary.
- Maintains signature authority to the level of a department head on the assigned shift.
- Perform other job related tasks as assigned by senior management and that may be dictated by necessity and the scope of the position.
