Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a experienced Principal Project Manager/Sr Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package
What You’ll Get To Do:
Perform as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the totality of the Support Equipment scope. The Support Equipment scope is captured within 8 Control Accounts (CAs) containing hundreds of millions of dollars, and thousands of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) lines. Quickly learn and adapt to enable you to obtain a thorough understanding of the Support Equipment scope and successfully plan and execute the work to be performed. Understand the tasks each team is performing, ensure EVMS compliance, and build relationships between the team, Integrated Product Team (IPT) and Operations Unit (OU) leadership, and the business management office. Communicating closely with the Support Equipment IPT lead will be at top of your priority list to provide status and obtain feedback/guidance for work planning and execution. Being agile, flexible, and having the capability to communicate effectively with peers and interdepartmental stakeholders to address tasking from multiple sources such as Support Equipment, Functional Homeroom (FHR), Business Management (BM), Program Operations & Execution (PE&O), and Launch Systems (LS).
The Support Equipment IPT is part of the Launch Systems Business Unit (BU) for the Sentinel Program located at our Roy, Utah campus with up to 10% travel.
Essential Responsibilities:
Apply industry practices, techniques, and standards—leveraging core concepts and principles—to execute moderately complex professional tasks.
Familiarity and understanding with project management principles.
Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Operate independently with only general supervision, delivering work that is subsequently reviewed to ensure sound judgment, adequacy, and accuracy.
Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals while exercising sound judgment to prevent errors that would otherwise require moderate resources to correct.
Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders, representing the organization on project assignments, and delivering presentations to small groups.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal Project Management: 5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD. In lieu of formal degree, 4 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Sr Principal Project Management: 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. In lieu of formal degree, 4 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
Working knowledge of Project Management principles.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
At least five years of experience in leading projects or cross-functional teams.
Experience in briefing executive leadership.
Ability to obtain Control Account Manager (CAM) certification.
Strong foundation in EVMS knowledge.
Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite.
Advanced Excel Skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government DoW/DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
Understanding and application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Current/Active Special Program Access (SAP) or ability to obtain SAP clearance.
PMP Certification.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.
At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages, Atlassian Tool Suite, and other electronic databases.
Proficient in Agile Development.
Experience with CAM application and responsibilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.
Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review.
Experience leading other Project Managers.
Familiar with knowledge and understanding of general project management principles.
Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
