Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for an Engineer Liaison – Level 3 or Level 4 to serve as the primary point of contact for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) support, coaching engineers and PLM users on best practices for data entry, change management, and analytics. This role bridges engineering hand‑offs, ensures compliance with configuration‑management standards, and leverages data tools to drive continuous process improvement. The position will support our Advanced Weapons team full‑time on‑site at our Northridge, CA facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide deskside PLM support and coaching on data entry, change management, and analytics
- Create and assist in the creation of change notices (CNs)
- Analyze PLM data and produce graphs/metrics to support process improvements
- Enhance data pipelines to reduce manual effort and error rates
- Act as liaison for engineering hand‑offs, ensuring clarity, compliance, and timely execution
- Generate innovative, data‑driven problem‑solving approaches using modern tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python)
- Produce twice‑weekly reports of documentation > 2 days old; distribute to engineering teams, functional managers, and the Engineering Director
- Produce twice‑weekly reports of documentation > 30 days old; deliver directly to the Engineering Director
- Work collaboratively with signatories to “burn down” aged CNs
- Maintain a prioritization tracker for all programs, track needed dates, and follow up with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to keep information current
Basic Qualifications – Level 3
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM and at least 3 years of experience, 4 additional years of relative experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- Understand basic hand‑offs from Engineering and Configuration Management (CM) and the core concepts of CM
- Experienced with EIA‑649, MIL‑HDBK‑61A, and common ASME standards
- Familiar with at least one PLM/PDM system (e.g., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, Windchill) – training or limited hands‑on use is sufficient
- Ability to read and follow engineering artifacts: models, drawings, specifications, part records, change notices, manufacturing plans, and procedures
- Solid written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance within the timeframe set by management
Basic Qualifications – Level 4
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM and at least 6 years of experience, 4 additional years of relative experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- Understand basic hand‑offs from Engineering and Configuration Management (CM) and the core concepts of CM
- Experienced with EIA‑649, MIL‑HDBK‑61A, and common ASME standards
- Familiar with at least one PLM/PDM system (e.g., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, Windchill) – training or limited hands‑on use is sufficient

Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
- Eligibility for SAP/SAR access
- Working knowledge of Tableau or other data‑visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Deltek, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Experience in the military, government, or commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial‑technology companies)

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
