About the Role
We are a growing team at Northern Lights, Inc., expanding our presence in the marine and industrial generator markets. This is a true hunter-farmer sales role where you will build relationships, develop new business, and help shape our growth throughout the Northeast. You will sell equipment, parts, and service solutions to commercial marine operators and industrial generator customers. This is a high-impact role where your efforts directly contribute to company growth and market expansion.
What You’ll Do
- Build and grow relationships with marine and industrial customers
- Identify new business opportunities and develop your own pipeline
- Sell equipment, parts, and service solutions across your territory
- Support customers with technical insight and responsive communication
- Work closely with internal leadership to grow market presence
- Maintain organized customer and sales activity records (CRM/admin work)
- Represent the company professionally in the field and at customer sites
- Help shape sales strategy as the company expands
What Success Looks Like
- Consistent growth in new customer relationships and revenue
- Strong, trusted relationships with key accounts
- Ability to independently manage territory and pipeline
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets over time
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of outside sales experience (industrial, marine, or technical sales preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable prospecting and closing new business
- Technical/mechanical curiosity is a big plus
- Self-starter who works well independently in the field
- Ability to travel 25%
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to travel regularly within the territory
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or sales training is a plus
