Job Summary: The Quality Engineer drives innovation and enhances the Quality culture within the plant. This role involves leveraging data, process expertise, and insights from team members to identify and implement effective solutions. Responsibilities include educating, coaching, and training team members to foster a strong commitment to Quality. In addition to supporting routine Quality department functions, the Quality Engineer leads improvement initiatives across various departments, ensuring the quality and compliance of products and processes.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering
  • Trained in proactive problem-solving with expertise in various structured methodologies.

  • ISO 9001 Auditing Certification
  • Ability to work openly and collaboratively with diverse leadership and departmental teams.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in all forms of English communication
  • Strong and transparent communication skills with relevant departments.
  • Willingness to identify needs for change and implement effective solutions.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to efficiently manage daily, weekly, and monthly compliance activities and sampling for required certifications.

 

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Collaborative Quality Improvement: Work directly on the shop floor with operators to integrate quality thinking and foster local problem-solving, facilitating a cultural transition. 
  • Project Leadership: Lead and support various manufacturing projects aimed at enhancing product quality, equipment efficiency, workplace environment, and team members’ daily tasks.
  • Issue Identification: Utilize data analysis, visual inspections, and feedback on reported concerns to identify internal product and process issues. Coordinate both short- and long-term resolutions with involved team members.
  • Feedback-Driven Improvement: Actively listen to operator feedback to identify and resolve issues, utilizing available site resources to implement solutions.
  • Training and Coaching: Contribute to a learning organization by teaching and coaching shop floor personnel. Share technical knowledge and reactionary logic based on observations of process deviations.
  • Technical Expertise: Continuously pursue deeper knowledge in specific areas (such as extrusion, painting, fabrication) to drive innovative solutions.
  • Customer Claim Support: Assist in internal investigations of customer complaints and provide support for containment measures as needed.
  • Trial Coordination: Organize and oversee internal product and process trials on the shop floor.
  • Product Dispositioning Support: Collaborate with team members to ensure proper disposition of suspect materials, providing rationale for decisions and guidance.
  • Benchmarking Engagement: Partner with colleagues across the organization to benchmark and standardize best practices.
  • Commitment to Compliance and Ethics: Uphold high standards for quality compliance and ethical behavior within the manufacturing environment, particularly in laboratories. Coach and train direct reports on compliance and ethical practices.
  • Minimal travel - <5%
