Role Description The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level II Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Yamunanagar. This position is responsible for performing and interpreting NDT examinations (such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections) on heavy engineering components, welds, and fabricated structures to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The inspector prepares inspection plans, sets up and calibrates NDT equipment, conducts tests, documents results, and issues clear, accurate reports. Daily activities include collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve nonconformities, recommending corrective actions, and supporting root cause analysis. The role also involves maintaining proper records, ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures, and supporting audits and customer inspections as required.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong NDT technical skills, including Level II certification in applicable methods (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) and the ability to interpret relevant codes and standards (such as ASME, ASTM, ISO).
- Candidates should possess practical inspection and quality assurance skills, including experience with weld inspection, dimensional checks, acceptance criteria evaluation, and preparation of detailed inspection reports.
- Candidates should possess equipment handling and documentation skills, including proficiency in setting up and calibrating NDT instruments, maintaining calibration records, and ensuring accurate data traceability.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify defects, assess risk, support root cause analysis, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, including clear technical writing, the ability to communicate findings to production and engineering teams, and a professional approach during client or third-party inspections.
