About the role
Roles and Responsibilities:
- SME in at least one functional module of the system or service
- Design and quality ownership of the service owned as the the SME
- Say/do ratio of > 95% in execution
- Code reviews and quality gatekeeper for the SME area
- Assist and mentor junior members
- Responsible for enforcing code reviews and test coverage
- Ensure no regressions in the modules owned
- Serve on interview panels and help grow the organization
Must Have Skills:
- Overall 7+ years of experience in application development using Java with creating and deploying microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
- Good experience in unit(Junit) and integration testing.
- Experience in Microservices is a must.
- Experience in designing and developing REST based services / Microservice development.
- Candidate should have good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Any one of these database Mongo, Maria, RMQ, Postgres, or other NoSQL servers
- Experience in AWS and CI/CD
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Optimize performance and ensure high availability of backend services.
- Should be versatile, proactive, and capable of taking full ownership of their work.
- Need to quickly understand the tech stack, services, and workflows, be strong problem solvers, and contribute to both day-to-day operations and long-term improvements.
- Troubleshoot incidents, write code and add new features, etc.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Design and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient query performance.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production and development environments.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimations.
