1.
Direct the
day-to-day nursing functions of LPNs, MACs and CNAs on designated nursing units
during the assigned shift ensuring that care is rendered according to the
resident’s plan of care and facility policy, procedures and guidelines.
2.
Provide resident
care to include but not limited to assessments, care planning, treatments,
medications, interventions, communications, and other resident care activities according
to the resident care plans and physician orders. Document the residents’
response to the care consistent with applicable policies, guidelines and
regulations.
3.
Communicate with
physicians, Director of Nursing Services and other employees, as necessary,
concerning the status of residents, any new admissions and activities on the
shift. Report residents’ condition and shift occurrences to oncoming staff.
4.
Make rounds with
physicians as necessary and document care and treatment as indicated.
5.
Review and
transcribe physician orders according to policy and ensure orders have been
executed.
6.
Meet with
residents, and/or family members, as necessary. Report problem areas to the Supervisor.
7.
Complete medication
pass audits and counts medication as assigned.
Report any discrepancies to the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director
of Nursing.
8.
Complete forms,
communication records, and reports as required.
9.
Coordinate resident
activities with other staff members and departments as indicated and inform
staff of new resident admissions.
10.
Report
all discrepancies, problems, and/or issues regarding resident care to the Director
of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing.
11.
Perform
other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
