What you’ll do
- Define the end-to-end AI RAN architectural vision and strategy, including key layers, interfaces, and evolution steps.
- Establish a technology roadmap that addresses foundational capabilities (data, models, compute placement, automation loops) required for AI-enabled RAN autonomy.
- Lead strategic decisions that impact platform direction, aligning architecture with portfolio competitiveness and operational outcomes.
- Influence portfolio optimization by identifying opportunities to simplify platforms and standardize where appropriate, while maintaining differentiation.
- Partner with senior leaders across engineering and product domains to align execution, de-risk key bets, and ensure architectural decisions translate into implementable plans.
What you’ll bring
- Deep expertise in wireless and/or RAN system architecture, including end-to-end network considerations and operational constraints.
- Proven record of setting technical direction at organizational or company scale and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Strong systems architecture skills across performance, reliability, security, cost, and operability for large-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI/ML systems and how to operationalize them (data pipelines, model lifecycle, inference/training placement, observability, and governance).
- Ability to lead ambiguous problem spaces and translate early-stage concepts into crisp architecture and execution roadmaps.
Responsibilities

• Evaluates new technologies and sets a direction for future technology capability demands.
• Has ability to guide and create the end-to-end system design & development of a product.
• Researches, designs, plans, develops and / or evaluates new advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design.
• Work typically includes in-depth assessment of the customer's networked application needs, providing network modelling and simulation testing, consulting to further clarify needs, and engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality.
• Designs, defines and implements integrated hardware / software systems requirements for customers and / or prepares studies and analyses existing systems.
• Determines system specifications, input / output processes and working parameters for hardware / software compatibility.
• Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
• Identifies, analyses and resolves programme support deficiencies.
• Develops and recommends corrective actions.
• Significantly influences strategic decisions in the professional area through expertise, in turn impacting the performance of the sub-function to create competitive advantage.
• Solves highly complex problems and develops original and innovative solutions with broad impact on the business.
• Monitors and guides professional developments and the strategy for a business-relevant organisational unit.
• Is an acknowledged and externally visible authority and strategic expert, typically within a key business function.
• Often leads projects with significant risk and complexity and develops project strategy.
