About The Role
We are currently looking for a skilled VoIP Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and/or Python to join our team. This full-time position is remote, with the selected candidate employed directly by Ufinity Ventures and deployed to work with an international client involved in developing modern, scalable communication platforms and digital applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, coupled with practical experience in VoIP technologies such as SIP, RTP, and platforms like Asterisk, Kamailio, or FreeSWITCH.
This role demands a developer mindset, focusing on designing and building robust backend services and integrating VoIP platforms to deliver high-quality communication solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with distributed teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our client's VoIP infrastructure.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js or Python. Proven expertise in building RESTful APIs, working with Linux environments, and managing relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with VoIP protocols like SIP and RTP, as well as familiarity with VoIP platforms such as Asterisk, Kamailio, or FreeSWITCH.
Additional qualifications include experience with version control systems like Git, and a strong understanding of scalable backend architecture. Preferred candidates will have experience with WebRTC, cloud services like AWS, containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions like Grafana or Zabbix.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and/or Python, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between systems.
- Work with VoIP platforms such as Asterisk, Kamailio, or FreeSWITCH to develop and integrate telecommunication features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SIP, RTP, and WebRTC protocols to ensure reliable voice and video communication.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance platform capabilities.
- Manage and operate within Linux-based environments, ensuring system stability and security.
- Optimize backend performance for scalability and efficiency, including database management and query optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git workflows, participating in code reviews and development cycles.
- Assist in debugging, monitoring, and providing ongoing support for production systems to maintain service quality.
