Role Overview
The Manager of Adult Learning and Development plays a critical role in executing high-impact initiatives that strengthen staff experience, support charter renewal priorities, and ensure strong progress toward Noble’s adult learning and licensure goals.
Reporting to the Director of Adult Learning and Development, this role is responsible for turning strategy into execution: leading complex projects, building strong operational systems, and ensuring Adult learning and licensure efforts run effectively at scale, with the core responsibilities leaning into managing our licensure execution.
This role sits at the center of project management, systems, and execution excellence, ensuring our adult learning and licensure work is not only well-designed, but consistently delivered with quality, clarity, and impact.
Core Responsibilities
The Manager of Adult Learning & Development supports the execution of Noble’s adult learning strategy by ensuring programs and experiences are high-quality, aligned, and impactful. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead Execution of High-Impact Initiatives

  • Project manage large-scale initiatives tied to adult learning, licensure, and charter renewal priorities
  • Ensure projects are clearly scoped, on track, and delivering against defined outcomes
Operationalize/Manage Licensure Projects + Strategy
  • Execute key components of Noble’s licensure strategy, including tracking the Teacher PEL requirement, SPED licensure goals, and our differentiated ML endorsed goals
  • Manage systems, processes, and partnerships that support staff enrollment, progress, and completion
Audit and Strengthen Adult Learning Systems
  • Conduct regular audits of adult learning programs to ensure alignment to strategy and quality standards
  • Identify gaps and drive improvements to strengthen coherence, access, and effectiveness
Own Data Systems and Reporting
  • Maintain and at times build systems that track adult learning and licensure data, including our centralized development survey and systems to track impact
  • Deliver clear, actionable reporting that supports decision-making across the People Team, Academic Teams, and school leaders
Coordinate Logistics and Operational Excellence
  • Ensure all logistics for centrally owned PD (facilities, materials, scheduling, communication) are seamless
  • Anticipate and solve operational challenges to deliver strong, consistent staff experiences
Drive Consistency and Quality Across Programs
  • Provide tools, templates, and support to ensure learning experiences meet Noble’s quality bar
  • Partner across teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and strong execution of different PD spaces and Affinity Groups
Key Goals: (Within First Year of this New Role)
  • Licensure systems are clear, accurate, and actively impacting our licensure goals and sustainability
  • Lead our work for a “center of excellence” that can house all vetted PD
  • Adult learning programs are audited, aligned, and show measurable improvement in quality, impact to role, and participation
  • Data systems and dashboards provide real-time, actionable insights for leaders
  • PD experiences are consistently well-executed, with strong staff feedback and minimal operational gaps
  • Cross-functional projects are delivered on time, with clear ownership and strong follow-through
  • Ensure new and existing management development programs (e.g., Diverse Leaders Fellowship, Management Accelerator, Director Development Series) are aligned, integrated, and part of a cohesive learning pathway, rooted in our Leadership and Management frameworks, core values and NIF.

Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preference for candidates with experience in education, adult learning, or program management
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in program management, professional development, or a related field.  
  • Preferred: deep understanding of adult learning and professional development

  • Program Management & Execution: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure high-quality execution
  • Adult Learning Orientation: Understanding of adult learning principles and experience supporting training or development initiatives
  • Data-Informed Practice: Ability to track and interpret program data to inform improvements
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams, with multiple leaders and stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure consistency, quality, and follow-through across programs
  • Cultural Competence & Inclusion: Ability to support inclusive learning environments that reflect Noble’s values
Compensation
We strive to be among the best places to work in education, and our employee benefits are thoughtfully designed to support us in this ambition. Compensation for this position typically falls between $75,000  and $95,000  per year, which represents the average for staff in this role. Factors such as years of experience and skill sets may impact placement within, or outside, this range.
